Lucerne, 3 January 2023 – The 51-year-old Marc Sebald will assume the newly positioned role of Group CTO as of 1.1.2023. At the same time, the responsibilities within the management team will be redistributed. This is how the company responds to its growth of recent years and positions itself for a successful future.

The family-owned company GWF AG, headquartered in Lucerne, has developed strongly in recent years. Today, the company is active in the field of measurement, control, and data communications technologies and provides integrated IoT and data solutions in the areas of Smart City, Smart Building, Smart Infrastructure, and Smart Industry. The company’s focus lies on the management and optimization of water and energy consumption. GWF has developed an innovative portfolio of proprietary products, complete solutions, and technologies and collaborates with other leading manufacturers of high-quality system components.

“In recent years, we have invested in the further development of our technology portfolio and will continue on this path. With Marc Sebald, we were able to attract an expert in leading multidisciplinary R&D teams. Marc has a clear vision of how GWF’s technology portfolio will develop in the coming years, and I am very much looking forward to working with him,” says CEO and Chairman Florian Strasser.

In the newly positioned role of Group CTO, Marc Sebald will be responsible for all R&D activities and the technology agenda of GWF AG and its subsidiaries. He completes the five-member management team, in which responsibilities will be redistributed under the leadership of Florian Strasser. Urs Imholz will be responsible for the group’s product and solutions portfolio, Markus Neuhaus for the group-wide sales activities and Ioannis Fotiou for corporate development including finance and IT.

“I am very much looking forward to shaping the future of GWF and to contributing my experience and passion for R&D management, technology, and team development. The energy and water sector needs innovative solutions. Together with our customers and partners, we will make a significant contribution for the sustainable use of valuable and increasingly scarce resources,” says Marc Sebald, who looks back on more than 20 years of leadership experience in the industry.

Just how innovative GWF is has been demonstrated in recent years. Today, around 50 % of the group’s sales come from business areas and products that have been developed and launched in the last 5 years. In doing so, the SME with around 250 employees relies on the long-term cooperation with development and sales partners worldwide. For the coming years, the company looks positively into the future and plans further investments in new technologies.
