S-GE Inbound Fact-finding Mission from the USA to Switzerland on Sustainable Infrastructure
Just over a month ago, we had the privilege of hosting a truly remarkable event on our premises: As part of the Switzerland Global Enterprise Inbound Fact-finding Mission on Sustainable Infrastructure, we were privileged to host a delegation of US representatives in our beautiful headquarters city of #Lucerne.
From the outset, it was clear that this gathering would be special. Together with our colleagues Christian Michel and Philip Morger from S-GE, we transformed this opportunity into an unforgettable experience for both – our visitors and us: After being welcomed by City Councilor Adrian Borgula, our guests were guided through the old town of Lucerne by Lucerne Tourism. After lunch, we visited the state-of-the-art Spring Drinking Water Plant at Mount Sonnenberg by ewl energie wasser luzern, where Christian Hofmann gave us valuable insights into the functioning of the plant. 💧
Coming back to the city by bus, we were ready for our highlight of the day: The tour of our very own factory. Chris Bold and Sergio Thaddey guided our US guests through our premises and gave them valuable insights into the world of our water meter portfolio. The tour was followed by input presentations of our water experts Stefan Christen, Brynn Williams, and Juergen Skripalle on our AFM and Water Balance products, as well as our engagement in the Swiss “Slow Water” project. We concluded the afternoon with an engaging panel discussion with our panelists Florian Strasser, James Rees, Johannes Heeb, and Gary Vincent, where we focused on the challenges in the water cycle and compared Switzerland and the U.S. 🏭💡🌊
The day concluded with a heartfelt farewell dinner and a quick visit to the Verein Lilu Lichtfestival Luzern. We thank all our esteemed guests, partners, and the entire GWF family which made this day unforgettable. A special thank you also to the President of the cantonal government of Lucerne Fabian Peter, who showed up to greet our US delegation during the aperitif. 🙌🏻
The fruitful discussion with all the US participants showed once more, the power of collaboration and shared expertise in tackling global water challenges. The day symbolizes our collective commitment to drive innovation in the water industry and, by this, to head our infrastructure towards a sustainable future. 🌍💧
