GWF acquires GMT: More competence for the gas industry

The Lucerne-based family-owned company GWF AG has acquired GMT GmbH, a specialist in gas control devices and gas metering technology based in Gross-Gerau, Germany. With this acquisition, GWF expands its solution portfolio in the field of metering and control technology for the gas industry.

Two Companies with Tradition and a Shared Vision for the Future
GMT looks back on more than four decades of experience in the development and production of gas pressure regulators and diaphragm gas meters. The company operates with its own technologies and manufacturing capacities in Gross-Gerau and employs around 50 people. By joining the GWF Group, which was founded in 1899, GMT gains new perspectives for its further development, both organizationally, technologically, and in terms of market orientation. The goal is to strengthen the company and position it for long-term success in a rapidly changing gas industry.

Forward-Looking Development
GMT will continue to operate as an independent company with its own brand, organization, and location. At the same time, strategic and entrepreneurial impulses from the GWF organization will be used to support GMT’s continued development. “The acquisition of GMT marks another important milestone in the implementation of our growth strategy”, says Florian Strasser, CEO of GWF AG. “We see GMT as a well-established company with great potential. Together with its employees, we want to develop the company further and open up new perspectives for the future.”

Strategic Growth of the GWF Group
The acquisition of GMT is GWF’s second transaction in 2025, following the acquisition of Unimon GmbH, a company specializing in water quality analysis, in January. With this step, GWF continues to pursue its strategic growth agenda and positions itself as a comprehensive solution provider for the energy and water sectors.
